about us

La Marzocco traces its roots to early 1900s Italy, when espresso – coffee prepared on demand – began gaining popularity. In Florence, brothers Giuseppe and Bruno Bambi founded Officine Fratelli Bambi in 1927, later naming their machines La Marzocco after the city’s iconic lion symbol.

Driven by innovation and close collaboration with customers, La Marzocco introduced key advancements that shaped the espresso industry, including the first horizontal boiler (1939), lever machines that defined modern espresso, and the double boiler system (1970), now a global standard for temperature stability and performance.

The brand expanded internationally, gaining recognition among professionals and cafés worldwide – including long-standing partnerships with global coffee leaders. Through continued innovation, collaborations with baristas, and support for the specialty coffee community, La Marzocco has remained at the forefront of espresso technology.

Today, with both commercial and home machines, La Marzocco continues to combine heritage, craftsmanship, and innovation – bringing world-class espresso experiences from cafés into homes around the globe.
